The Travelmarathon group's date with the Valencia marathon for the 2026 season is set for 6 December — will it once again be the race most loved and most attended by Italians?
The 46th Maratòn Valencia Trinidad Alfonso 2026 better known as the Valencia Marathon has once again been declared the race with the "mas llano" course in Europe — that is, the flattest in Europe and the fastest in all of Spain! With the recent record of 2h 01' 48'' set at last year's edition by the Kenyan Sisay Lemma. The Valencia marathon now becomes one of the very fastest races in the entire world!
The Valencia Marathon has been awarded the prestigious and unique IAAF recognition: the Platinum label.

THE VALENCIA MARATHON - THE FASTEST COURSE IN EUROPE
The Valencia Marathon has been declared the marathon with the flattest course in Europe and the fastest in all of Spain ... the start, at 08:25 on 6 Dec. 2026, will take place from the spectacular City of Arts and Sciences - the work of the brilliant Valencian Santiago Calatrava - an enchanting place that will amaze you, literally leaving you breathless!
Over 35,000 runners will take to the city streets, passing through the historic centre and Valencia's most important landmarks.
But save your breath for the finale!
For your finish, the organisers have devised and built an enormous bridge at water level, preceded by more than 1,000 metres of blue carpet — and at that point you can only cross the line with dreaming eyes and your arms raised to the sky!
You will feel like you are running on water !!!

Valencia is famous throughout the culinary world for its renowned Paella. Imagine a place where rice grows, where animals are raised and fish is caught, where every kind of fresh vegetable is grown in plots large and small, fertile and lush.
It is with all these ingredients that the cuisine of this land is forged.
It is then easy to stay out late, between a restaurant, a beer and dancing the night away in one of the many trendy or characterful venues. Valencia also challenges Madrid and Barcelona for the title of queen of nightlife, or movida. The areas most packed with bars, pubs and clubs are Cánovas, the Barrio del Carmen and the Ciutat Universitaria, particularly along Avenida de Blasco Ibáñez and in the streets surrounding Plaza de Xuquer.
But summing up the soul of Valencia with the stereotype "movida, sun and paella" would be unfair. Pleasure-loving Valencia coexists with cultured Valencia, proud of its past (the historic heart dates back to the 1400s, when it was the largest settlement in Christian Europe), yet looking ahead without fear. Spanish newspapers speak of an explosión valenciana. The economy works better than elsewhere, and in recent years the city has been struck by a surge of energy and creativity that has profoundly transformed it.
But the work that has contributed most to Valencia's revival is the Ciudad de las artes y la ciencias designed by Santiago Calatrava, the city's most illustrious son, who back in 1995 had already built, on the dried-up bed of the Turia river, one of Europe's most elegant bridges and a metro station that looks like a work of art. The Ciudad is visited every day by thousands of people.

The prestigious 4-star sup. Hotel Rey Don Jaime is one of the best 4* hotels in the city, perfect for runners as it is just a few hundred metres from the finish/start.
The rooms are bright and spacious (24 m²!), air-conditioned and equipped with every comfort (minibar, safe, ...), with parquet or carpeted floors and elegant, refined furnishings. Exclusively for Travelmarathon guests, it includes free Wi-Fi and satellite TV.
The Hotel restaurant, in classic style, offers Mediterranean dishes on its à la carte menu, along with typical products such as Tapas and Paella.
At the cafeteria, open until late evening, you can enjoy delicious cocktails or ice-cold Cerveza! The nearest metro station, Ayora, is just 700 metres away and will take you to the historic centre and the cathedral in a few minutes. MINI MARATHON
The little Runners registered for the Mini Marathon shortly before their start
Your children too can take part in the Mini Marathon, which will be held on Sat. 6 Dec. at 11:00, starting from the striking Montelivet Bridge (the same as the Marathon start). Travelmarathon already holds unlimited race bibs for your children (aged 2 to 12), who will be registered completely FREE OF CHARGE!
