On 25 April 2027 the TCS London Marathon will take place. Travelmarathon is an International Travel Partner (ITP) and race bibs are guaranteed and may only be transferred if combined with hotel accommodation and the assistance of our Tour Operator.
THE HISTORY OF THE LONDON MARATHON
The London Marathon was born in 1981 and is, for any passionate runner, an unmissable event. The race is extremely fast, and over the years the world record has been broken here no fewer than 6 times. The men's course record is 2h 02' 37''!
The first edition counted just over 6,000 finishers, while in 2019 more than 49,300 runners crossed the finish line of what is today a great Marathon belonging, not by chance, to the Abbott World Marathon Majors circuit.
On 25 April 2026 a barrier came down: for the first time in history, a man officially broke the two-hour barrier in the marathon. The credit goes to 31-year-old Kenyan Sebastian Sawe who triumphed in London in 1h59’30”.

THE MARATHON COURSE
The Marathon start is scheduled for 10:00 with the first Wheelchair wave, through to 11:30 with the start of the amateur runners.
The start will be in the area of Greenwich Park, divided into 3 waves: blue, green and red.
The finish is in front of Buckingham Palace.
The course is flat and fast, featuring long straights and passing close to the city's most important landmarks such as Tower Bridge, the London Eye, ... and of course Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the sovereign of the United Kingdom, King Charles III.
Time limit 6 h 30'.

EXPO
The TCS London Marathon Expo is held at the Excel Exhibition Centre, open on the following days:
- Wednesday from 10:00 to 20:00;
- Thursday from 10:00 to 20:00;
- Friday from 10:00 to 20:00;
- Saturday from 08:30 to 17:30.
The Palace and Abbey of Westminster (including St Margaret's Church), Maritime Greenwich, the Tower of London and Kew Gardens.
And of course, don't forget Portobello Road in the famous Notting Hill district.
The street owes its fame to the market held there every day. These places are of course also famous thanks to the success of the romantic film of the same name, telling the love story between an American movie star (Julia Roberts) and an English bookseller (Hugh Grant).
Others may instead remember the 1971 Walt Disney film Bedknobs and Broomsticks, partly filmed on Portobello Road.
The rooms are bright and spacious (over 19 m²!), air-conditioned and equipped with every comfort (minibar, safe, ...) and tea/coffee making facilities, with carpeted floors and elegant, refined furnishings. Exclusively for Travelmarathon guests, free Wi-Fi and satellite TV are included.

Each participant pays a Participation Fee
from Fri. 23 to Mon. 26 April;
from Sat. 24 to Tue. 27 April;
depending on the departure airport (see the dedicated "FLIGHTS" link)
The Participation Fee consists of:
1- Deposit Fee;
3- Balance Fee (including the cost of the race bib).
1- The Deposit Fee varies according to air fares. We therefore recommend requesting a quote for the flight. Alternatively, you may purchase your flight on your own.
3- The Balance Fee is per person in a double/twin room, including the Race Bib Fee.

The Balance Fee is paid from 120 days before departure. It is refundable in the event of cancellation (see our General Terms and Conditions).
Solo Travellers:
Travelmarathon also thinks of you: if you wish to share a room with another runner, we will do our best to make it happen.
If you prefer to have a Double room for Single use from the outset, the cost for 4 days/3 nights is xxx Euro.
The fee includes:
- Return flight with small hand luggage measuring 40 cm x 25 cm x 20 cm (if requested);
- Full English Breakfast;
- Civil Liability Insurance;
- Accommodation at Hotel **** Sup. ... (3, 4 or 5 nights);
- Travelmarathon assistance at the Hotel (a tour escort is available 24h);
- Travelmarathon Staff presence from Florence Airport (for Thu. departures ). In any case, please remember that all our Hotels are easily reachable by public transport (5 Euro, blue metro line) or by inexpensive taxi (indicative price from the airport to the Hotel: 50 Euro);
- Escort to the race start corrals and to the expo;
- Delivery of the prestigious "ITALIA" T-shirt (men's model in Italian national blue and/or women's model in fuchsia) + delivery of the extremely useful ITALIA windbreaker to all race participants.
The fee does not include:
- The Cancel insurance, equal to about 7.5% of the entire package;
- Booking handling fee 10.90 Euro;
- Meals and drinks;
- Ticket prices for all transfers (bus/taxi), visits and excursions;
- Tips, extras in general, and anything not expressly indicated as included;
- Optional Saturday afternoon Tour at an indicative price of 39 Euro.
